Need help with the whole road rage/anger thing. Is this a sign of a deeper problem?
by easyreader1970 ini have a problem.
i don't like being deliberately cut off in traffic as though the person has a right to impede my progress because of his or her whim.
further, when someone forces me over or out of the way, i feel as though i am having my manhood stripped away and that i am wimping out.

A shot in the dark:
It could be as simple as that you have an inner resentment for having to live your life by everyone elses rules and you get angry when others appear to get away with ignoring common decency and courtesy. Yet, as another put it, the offenders are probably not erring on purpose. Perhaps you have a hint of perfectionism that wants a better world. A question is: How will you feel when you cut someone off or just plain screw up? Will you curse yourself or plea extenuating circumstances? Another guess: someone else probably taught you to look at mistakes as you do.

Would you like to be a member of the "Governing Body"?
by The Berean inoh, the good life ... at what cost?.
imagine for a moment that you could attain a position of adoration from seven million people.imagine that all of your everyday needs were supplied for you simply for talking about a pie-in-the-the-sky vision.imagine having millions of slaves who regularly sent you endless amounts of hard-earned money to fund such a "delusion"suppose you could write, change, and exempt yourself from the rules that an entire sub-culture lived by.imagine a free legal team at your disposal to justify, protect, and defend your every action.imagine that your entire environment waited with baited breath for your next statement, wrote it down, and took it as gospel.suppose you were led to believe you were closer to god than most everyone and that you were one who had the power to alter the course of history..consider having a staff of "front people" who would not only protect your access but would take responsibility for anything that might reflect badly on you.think of what it would be like if others believed that you should be treated the same as jesus.and yet, this is the world for those within the walls of the watchtower boardroom.. while members of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses are the focus of doubt and condemnation by former members, one has to wonder how many critics might "sell out," compromise, and accept the position as god's supposed mediator to enjoy the benefits of playing the game, even to the detriment of millions of suporters who seem to relish their servitude.. perhaps i am weak, evil, and selfish, but with a life of obscurity i would have probably thought long and hard about refusing such an anointing from people who were already bent on worshipping someone.
would you?.

You never know. The "light might get brighter" and your image might be placed on a stone pedestal as "the Virgin Elizabeth."

- Imagine a free legal team at your disposal to justify, protect, and defend your every action.
- Imagine that your entire environment waited with baited breath for your next statement, wrote it down, and took it as gospel.
- Suppose you were led to believe you were closer to God than most everyone and that you were one who had the power to alter the course of history..

All smokers will quit and gain about 10 pounds or so a year by using food to pacify their still-addictive tendancies ... by the end of a thousand years they will have likely filled the earth .,.

It's Amazing!
by whathehadas init's amazing to me how many of the exjws no longer believe in god.
i know some of you have many reasons to believe in what you do now.
but this is a big testimony to what the wts does to people's concept of god.

Here's where I am:
I'm not sure if there is a God or not. If there is, what he/she/it does is none of my business. I am not going to magnify God's soverignty, prove his rebellious childrern liars, or expect special treatment. I am happy I had a chance to live. I suspect we are all sort of God's entertainment or that he/she/it has walked away to tend to other business. Whatever happened, God has the power and right to do anything he/she/it pleases.
Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses taught me that if you wish to you can assign significance to every move on earth. I have decided that my activities are not important ...
Thank you God for all the happiness, pain, joy, and disappointment that goes with life. I gave it my best shot. I fear not death.

If I could just add ...
I was somewhere around 12 or 13 years old when I was awoken during the night by brilliant flashes of light and a loud buzzing sound outside my bedroom window. Without either looking or thinking I entered my closet and carefully put on my suit, tie, and dress shoes. You see, I assumed that this was the start of the "great tribulation" that I had been warned about. Prepared to watch the world crumble, I opened the curtains to see only an electrical transformer on a pole in front of my house shorting out and burning. Talk about "inculcation" ....
